The Master’s in Museum Studies is a unique, one-and-half year professional programme that focuses on the museological field, and includes an intensive, one-semester internship.
This year, you won’t be able to attend any busy on-campus events with lots of people. But our online Open House is the perfect way to get to know UvA study programmes and university life from the comfort of your own home.
Every study programme has an Open House page with videos, FAQs and live events. On the main Open House website you can discover all our programmes, explore the city and campus, and get inspired during our theme weeks.
The Master's programme Museum Studies prepares you for a position in the wider field of the museum world by equipping you with the necessary cultural-historical research skills and professional training. You will gain first-hand experience during an intensive 5-month internship at a museum in The Netherlands or abroad. Students will arrange this internship themselves during the first semester under the guidance of a supervisor.
Museum Studies is an accredited degree programme of Heritage Studies. After successful completion of this programme, you will receive a legally accredited Master’s degree in Heritage Studies and the title Master of Arts (MA).
